Coach Ed and Vintage Reds


Saturday February 9th will see a host of talent, resources and activities brought to the Downs, with Gold Park playing host to Foundation coaching courses, Kids clinics and an evening with the Vintage Reds. 

COACH ED - 8am - 3pm - $95

Specialist coaches will be presenting Foundation courses to XVs, 7s coaches and referees, which is the pre-requisite to obtaining a level 1 accreditation.

VINTAGE REDS FUNCTION - 5pm - 8pm - $20

As the sun sets over Gold Park, the Vintage Reds will be hosting a casual BBQ dinner and drinks on the deck at Gold Park. The night will feature casual conversation to spread the good word of Rugby, with a Q&A with some of the greats of our game. In attendance will be Elton Flatley (111 Super Rugby Caps and 38 Wallaby Caps), Greg Cornelsen (Rugby Australia Hall of Fame inductee), Bill Ross (CEO of the Vintage Reds, and QLD and Wallabies Great) and Paul McLean (100 QLD Caps, 30 Wallaby Tests and member of the QRU Team of the Century and Hall of Fame).

KIDS CLINIC - 3pm - 4.30pm - Free

Following the coaching courses, the Vintage Reds will be engaging our local Rugby community, beginning with a 2 hours coaching clinic designed at junior participants aged 6-12. This clinic will focus on the core skills and fun of Rugby, being run by some of the great players of past generations. Elton Flately, Paul McLean, Greg Cornelsen and Bill Ross will be in attendance just to name a few.
