DD look to win back Border Cup and Cattleman's Cup on home soil

2018 will see the Darling Downs Senior and Colts Representative sides play all 4 fixtures in front of home grounds with the Border Cup, Cattleman's Cup and the South QLD Championships all to be hosted by Downs Rugby.

The Cattlemans Cup, proudly sponsored by Glencore Agriculture, will kick off the representative season when Darling Downs take on Central Queensland on March 3rd at the Highfields Sports Complex. This will be the first time Representative Rugby will be played at the new Highfields facility with the day to feature a Risdon Cup trial match, twilight Colts fixture and an evening Seniors Match. Senior Head Coach Nathan Bradley will be eager to win back the Cattleman's Cup after a narrow defeat to the Brahmans in Biloela last year.

Two weeks later the Colts and Seniors will head to Goondiwindi for the Border Cup on March 17th which will see the Darling Downs take on Central North. The Senior side also suffered a narrow defeat to their NSW counterparts so will be looking to win back the Border Cup on home soil. There will be plenty of action with club trial games, education sessions among the two representative fixtures rounding out a massive day of Rugby.

Dalby will then play host to the South Queensland Championships on the 18th/19th/20th of May. Darling Downs won both the Senior and Colts titles in the Tri Series against the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast in Noosa last year, so will be wanting to go back to back for the first time on home turf.

Stay tuned for more details on all our representative fixtures.
